Introduction

Lutterworth Youth Theatre Academy Limited is a company concerned with ensuring the Children of Lutterworth, and the surrounding area, have an opportunity to develop their skills linked to the performing arts, throughout the school holidays.

In 2011 children of school age, in Leicestershire, will have six full summer holiday weeks. It is certainly a challenge for parents and guardians to fully occupy their children.

At LYTA, in association with Lutterworth Performing Arts Centre, we have developed a full programme of events, to ensure students have the chance to learn or develop skills that will help them to grow as people.

Each course is designed as a creative outlet so each child, irrespective of their ability, will increase in self-confidence and self-esteem. They will improve their communication skills, learn to work closely with others towards achieving a common goal, whilst learning and improving theatre techniques and their confidence to perform. Not forgetting, of course, we are also here to have lots of fun.

Courses run from 09.00 am until 3.30 am. For busy parents there is an early drop-off facility from 7.30 am and a late pick up time of 6.00 pm.

During our 2010 Summer Schools over 130 students attended the summer schools programme and we are currently planning the Calendar of events for next year 2011.
